Apply to UNLV
We accept both the Common Application or our UNLV Application for incoming first-year students only. There is no preference given to either the UNLV Application or the Common Application – we recommend you choose the most convenient application for you.
After Applying
Submit your Official Transcripts and Test Scores
- High School Transcript – If you did not self-report your high school classes and grades in the UNLV application, you must submit your official high school transcript.
- ACT or SAT Scores – Test scores are not required for admission or scholarship consideration but are encouraged for UNLV course placement. Request to have your scores sent to UNLV from ACT or College Board when you register for the test.
Check your Application Status
After submitting your application, you will receive two emails, one with your MyUNLV NSHE ID number and another with your temporary password. Check your MyUNLV account regularly.
Apply for Financial Aid & Scholarships
- Institutional Aid Application (IAA) — Incoming undergraduate first-year students seeking institutional grants and scholarships are required to complete the 2025-26 Institutional Aid Application. Students who complete the Institutional Aid Application are also required to complete the FAFSA when it becomes available
- FAFSA — Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) using our school code 002569 to receive consideration for both need-based aid and merit scholarships.
- Alternate Need Form — Non-FAFSA eligible students only need to complete the Alternate Need Form to apply for both institutional need-based grants and scholarships.
